Abstract

The convenience of digital transactions has reshaped how students behave as consumers, particularly in online shopping practices, which may foster consumptive habits that affect their personal financial management. This study was designed to measure how far financial literacy, lifestyle, and online shopping influence the financial management of new students at Universitas Pembangunan Panca Budi, both individually and jointly. A quantitative descriptive design was applied. The population comprised 169 active students of the 2025 Management Study Program cohort, with 72 respondents obtained through accidental sampling. Data were gathered using a Likert-scale questionnaire and processed through validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression with SPSS. The processed results show that financial literacy and lifestyle each contribute a significant positive effect on financial management, whereas online shopping shows no significant partial effect. When tested jointly, the three independent variables prove to have a significant positive effect, contributing 81.7%. These findings reinforce that strengthening financial literacy and lifestyle awareness are key to healthier student financial management, regardless of how intensively they shop online.
