Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the production of curly red chili farmers in Silaumarawan Village, Dolok Silau District, Simalungun Regency. The study used a quantitative approach with a sample of 96 farmers selected using the Slovin formula. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires, while data analysis used Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), multiple linear regression, and classical assumption tests. The results of the CFA analysis indicate that there are three main factors representing the research variables: climate change, distribution, and capital. The results of the multiple linear regression indicate that partially climate change has a positive and significant effect on farmer production, while distribution and capital have no significant effect. Simultaneously, all three variables have a significant effect on farmer production. The Adjusted R Square value of 0.642 indicates that 64.2% of the variation in farmer production can be explained by climate change, distribution, and capital, while the remainder is influenced by other factors outside the research model. The results of this study are expected to be a consideration for farmers and the government in formulating strategies to increase the productivity of curly red chili farming in a sustainable manner.
