Abstract

This study aims to analyze financial management and recording practices at the Murottalul Qur’an Nurul Huda Islamic Boarding School and evaluate their alignment with the 2024 Pesantren Accounting Guidelines (PAP) based on SAK Private Entities (SAK EP). Employing a qualitative descriptive case study approach, data were gathered through passive participant observation, structured interviews with five key informants (Head of Pesantren, Male Treasurer, Female Treasurer, and Roisah), and internal documentation analysis. The findings indicate that financial management remains manual (single-entry system) and fragmented between male and female student units. While transitioning syahriah payments to bank transfers successfully mitigated funds misuse, overall financial reporting fails to comply with PAP 2024 and ISAK 35 standards due to the absence of the Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Activities, Statement of Cash Flows, and Notes to Financial Statements. Main factors driving this gap include limited human resource competence, lack of an integrated accounting information system, and management's perception of accountability as a moral-religious stewardship duty rather than a formal compliance requirement.
