Budidaya Tubifex sp. Menggunakan Limbah Organik Rumah Tangga di Pokdakkan Berkah Basah
Abstract
This community service program aims to develop a Tubifex sp. cultivation method using household organic waste as a growth medium, which is being implemented by the Berkah Basah fish farming group. Tubifex sp. has strategic value as a high-quality natural food for fish fry, but conventional production is often constrained by feed costs and environmental impacts. Utilizing organic waste not only contributes to reducing domestic waste but also creates a more sustainable and economically viable aquaculture ecosystem. This activity is carried out through a series of stages, starting with outreach and training for the farmer group, providing organic waste-based cultivation media, implementing the cultivation, and evaluating Tubifex production results. A participatory approach is applied to increase active community involvement in each stage of the program. Through this activity, it is hoped that the capacity of farmers in managing production more efficiently and sustainably will be increased, training modules will be created as educational materials, and evaluation data will be provided on the effectiveness of the applied cultivation methods. Furthermore, this program is expected to reduce the amount of household organic waste in an economically valuable way, thus positively impacting the environment and the local fisheries industry.
