Journal Focus

Jurnal Dehasen Untuk Negeri welcomes manuscripts reporting community service, community engagement, and empowerment activities. The journal focuses on the practical application of knowledge, technology, and professional expertise to address identified community needs through collaboration with community members and partner organisations.

Relevant activities include training and mentoring, marketing assistance, local food safety and security, appropriate technology, community-oriented design, community empowerment, education for sustainable development, technology transfer, responses to globalisation and social transformation, competency and entrepreneurship development, inclusive local economic development, participatory social change, conflict management, and digital information literacy.

Fields of Community Service

The journal covers community service applications in the following fields, including interdisciplinary collaborations:

  • Economics and Business: entrepreneurship, micro and small enterprise development, marketing, financial literacy, bookkeeping, cooperatives, and local economic empowerment.
  • Social Sciences: community organising, social inclusion, participatory development, cultural preservation, conflict management, and community-based social innovation.
  • Computer Science and Information Technology: digital literacy, information literacy, digital services, community information systems, and technology adoption for community and business needs.
  • Education: educational outreach, teacher and learner capacity building, inclusive education, community learning, and education for sustainable development.
  • Science: applied scientific knowledge, science literacy, environmental education, and practical innovations addressing everyday community problems.
  • Sports and Physical Education: community sports development, physical activity promotion, coaching education, inclusive recreation, and fitness programmes supporting community well-being.
  • Language and Literacy: language education, communication skills, reading and writing literacy, and the preservation of local languages through community participation.
  • Engineering and Appropriate Technology: technology transfer, community-oriented design, practical tools, production improvements, and locally appropriate infrastructure solutions.
  • Law: legal literacy, awareness of rights and responsibilities, community legal education, and capacity building to improve access to public services.
  • Agriculture: sustainable farming, fisheries, food processing, local food safety and security, agricultural entrepreneurship, and community-based natural resource management.
  • Health: health promotion, nutrition education, sanitation, disease prevention education, healthy lifestyles, and community-based health empowerment.

Scope requirement: manuscripts in all fields must demonstrate a clear community service or engagement component. Authors should describe the community need, intervention objectives and methods, participant involvement, evaluation, and practical outcomes. Purely theoretical studies or disciplinary research without community application fall outside the journal's focus.

Articles should provide appropriate quantitative or qualitative evidence of results and discuss implementation challenges, limitations, and opportunities for sustainability or replication. Descriptions of activities alone, without adequate evaluation and reflection, do not provide a sufficient scholarly contribution.
