Outing and training activities are one of the human resource development strategies that aim to improve employee competence and performance, especially in assessing the potential of micro businesses. Bank Perekonomi Rakyat (BPR) Medan as a financial institution that focuses on micro business financing requires human resources who have good, accurate, and risk mitigation-oriented business analysis skills. This study aims to analyze the role of outing and training in improving the ability of BPR Medan employees in assessing the potential of micro businesses. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that outing and training activities are able to increase employees' understanding of the characteristics of micro businesses, strengthen teamwork, and improve the ability to analyze business feasibility and credit risk. In addition, these activities also have a positive impact on work motivation and communication between employees. Thus, outings and training can be an effective means in supporting the improvement of the quality of micro business potential assessment at BPR Medan. This research is expected to be a consideration for BPR management in designing a sustainable human resource development program.
