Policy introduction
The Journal of Nursing and Public Health publishes scholarship on nursing practice, healthcare delivery, epidemiology and population health. This policy sets out the editorial requirements and recommended procedures necessary to protect research integrity, patient welfare, scholarly quality and transparent publishing. It applies to relevant authors, editors, reviewers and other participants in the publication process.
1. Publication frequency
The journal publishes TWO regular issues per year (semiannual), as stated in the official Author Guidelines and ISSN record. The current issue sequence follows Number 1 and Number 2. Historical archives show April and October issue patterns; the Editorial Board should formally confirm the current nominal publication months before publishing a fixed-month claim in OJS.
2. Submission and issue allocation
Submissions are received through OJS according to the publicly stated submission policy. Completed manuscripts are assigned to an issue only after screening, independent peer review, revision, acceptance and production. Acceptance does not guarantee placement in a named issue.
3. Quality over speed
Editorial timeframes depend on study design, reviewer availability, revisions, clinical safety concerns and verification of ethics approvals. The journal must not promise guaranteed acceptance or accelerated publication in return for fees.
4. Accurate dates and production
Actual publication dates, volume, issue, DOI and article metadata must be recorded accurately and must never be backdated to create the appearance of schedule compliance. Online-first publication or special issues require prior Board approval and transparent OJS configuration.
5. Delays and contingency
Where a regular issue is delayed, editors should document the cause, notify affected authors when appropriate and publish a website notice when the schedule materially changes. Any frequency change requires publisher and Editorial Board approval and consistent updates to OJS and indexing records.
6. Monitoring and accountability
Unived Press supports technical and production continuity. The Editorial Board should monitor issue timeliness, submission-to-decision times, acceptance-to-publication intervals, ethical quality control and DOI functionality annually.
Implementation and governance
The Editorial Board should approve this policy, incorporate it into the
