Policy introduction

The Journal of Nursing and Public Health publishes scholarship on nursing practice, healthcare delivery, epidemiology and population health. This policy sets out the editorial requirements and recommended procedures necessary to protect research integrity, patient welfare, scholarly quality and transparent publishing. It applies to relevant authors, editors, reviewers and other participants in the publication process.

1. Official electronic archive

The journal preserves public access to published articles through its OJS archive at https://jurnal.unived.ac.id/index.php/jnph/issue/archive. The publication record extends to 2013. Article records should include accurate titles, author details, issue data, abstracts, identifiers and full-text links.

2. Preservation scope and integrity

Preservation covers published PDFs and other files, issue records, bibliographic and DOI metadata, licence notices, supplements, and post-publication correction or retraction notices. Published records must not be silently altered. Version control, checksums and access logs should be deployed where feasible.

3. Operational backups

The publisher should establish automated incremental database/file backups daily, full backups weekly, off-site or logically isolated storage, and periodic restoration tests. Backup access should be restricted and protected. These are proposed minimum operating controls and should only be described as in force when documented and implemented.

4. Independent long-term preservation

Routine website access and backups do not establish trusted independent digital preservation. The journal should assess PKP Preservation Network, LOCKSS or CLOCKSS against technical eligibility and budget. Participation must never be claimed without proof of successful enrolment and deposit.

5. Persistent identifiers and migration

Assigned DOIs must resolve to canonical article landing pages. After migration or hosting changes, links and DOI registration metadata should be updated; journal archives must remain reachable, and checks should detect damaged or missing files.

6. Confidentiality and special material

Unpublished manuscripts, peer-review reports, identifiable patient data and restricted research files require separate secure retention and access rules. Open licences do not make confidential patient material publicly reusable.

7. Roles, incident response and review

Unived Press supports infrastructure and continuity; editors oversee scholarly record accuracy; authorised technical administrators maintain backup and recovery procedures. Significant incidents and restoration tests should be documented. An annual preservation review is recommended.

Implementation and governance

The Editorial Board should approve this policy, incorporate it into the Author Guidelines and applicable OJS submission or editorial workflows, and review it periodically. Any additional operational requirements described as recommendations must be verified and implemented before being represented as active journal practice.
