Abstract

This study examines the effects of work-life balance and innovative work behavior on employee performance, with employee engagement as an intervening variable. An explanatory research design was applied to employees of State-Owned Enterprise banks in Jember Regency. The sample was determined using Slovin’s formula and proportional purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares with WarpPLS 7.0. Work-life balance and innovative work behavior positively affect employee engagement. Work-life balance does not directly affect employee performance, while innovative work behavior and employee engagement have significant effects. Employee engagement also mediates the effects of work-life balance and innovative work behavior on employee performance. Improving work-life balance, innovative behavior, and employee engagement can strengthen employee performance and organizational adaptability. This study develops an integrated model linking work-life balance and innovative work behavior to employee performance through employee engagement.
