The publication of a scholarly article represents an important contribution to the development of knowledge. Peer-reviewed publications should therefore reflect sound research methods, transparent reporting, academic integrity, appropriate attribution, ethical research conduct, and independent editorial judgement.
All parties involved in publication are expected to act responsibly and cooperate in protecting the accuracy, credibility, accessibility, and integrity of the scholarly record.
The Editor-in-Chief and responsible editors decide whether a manuscript should be accepted, revised, or rejected based on its originality, scholarly contribution, methodological quality, relevance to the journal's scope, ethical compliance, and peer-review evidence.
Reviewers provide scholarly recommendations, but the final editorial decision remains the responsibility of the authorized editor.
Manuscripts are evaluated on their scholarly content and relevance without discrimination based on personal characteristics, nationality, institutional affiliation, religious belief, gender, political views, or other factors unrelated to scientific merit.
Payment of publication charges does not purchase or guarantee acceptance, favorable peer review, publication priority, citation, or authorship.
Editors and editorial staff must protect information concerning submitted manuscripts. Manuscript content and confidential editorial information should be shared only with persons who legitimately participate in the editorial and peer-review process.
Editors must not use unpublished information obtained through a submitted manuscript for personal research or advantage without appropriate authorization. Editors who have a relevant personal, professional, financial, institutional, collaborative, or other conflict of interest must recuse themselves from handling the manuscript.
Manuscripts submitted by editors, editorial board members, or persons with close relationships to journal management must undergo the same independent editorial screening and peer-review standards as other submissions. Such manuscripts should be assigned to an editor without a relevant conflict of interest.
Peer review supports editors in assessing the quality, originality, validity, relevance, and scholarly contribution of manuscripts. Constructive reviewer comments may also assist authors in improving their work.
A reviewer who believes that the manuscript is outside their expertise or cannot be reviewed within the requested period should promptly inform the editor and decline the review assignment.
Manuscripts received for review are confidential documents. Reviewers must not share, reproduce, distribute, publicly discuss, or use manuscript content for personal advantage without authorization from the journal.
Reviews must be objective, evidence-based, respectful, and academically constructive. Personal criticism, discriminatory comments, abusive language, or unsupported accusations against authors are inappropriate.
Reviewers should identify important relevant published work that has not been appropriately acknowledged where this materially affects the manuscript. Reviewers should also inform the editor of suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, substantial overlap, data concerns, or other potential research-integrity problems.
Reviewers must decline an assignment when financial, personal, collaborative, institutional, competitive, supervisory, or other relationships could compromise or reasonably appear to compromise their impartiality.
Authors must provide an accurate, transparent, and sufficiently detailed account of the research conducted. Methods, data sources, analysis, findings, limitations, and conclusions should be reported honestly and in sufficient detail to permit appropriate scholarly evaluation and, where feasible, replication.
Fabrication, falsification, deceptive data manipulation, knowingly inaccurate statements, or selective reporting intended to mislead readers are unacceptable.
Authors must submit original work. Text, ideas, data, images, tables, figures, or other material originating from other sources must be appropriately quoted, cited, acknowledged, and used with permission where required.
Plagiarism, translated plagiarism, deceptive text recycling, unattributed reuse, and appropriation of another person's ideas or data are unacceptable.
Authors must not simultaneously submit substantially the same manuscript to more than one journal. Duplicate or redundant publication without appropriate disclosure, justification, and citation is unethical.
Authorship must be limited to persons who made substantial scholarly contributions to the work and who accept responsibility for the published article. Guest, honorary, gift, purchased, transferred, and ghost authorship are not permitted.
The corresponding author must ensure that all authors have approved the manuscript, authorship order, declarations, revisions, and final version. The journal encourages transparent description of individual contributor roles.
Authors must appropriately acknowledge publications, datasets, theories, instruments, methods, and other scholarly sources that materially contributed to the research.
Authors should preserve relevant underlying research data and provide appropriate information concerning data availability. Editors may request supporting data or documentation where reasonably necessary to assess research reliability or investigate an integrity concern.
Data sharing must comply with participant consent, privacy, confidentiality, ethical requirements, contractual restrictions, and applicable law.
Research involving human participants, identifiable personal information, vulnerable populations, or other research requiring ethical oversight must provide appropriate ethical approval and informed-consent information where required.
Authors must disclose relevant research funding and financial or non-financial competing interests that could reasonably be perceived to influence the research, analysis, interpretation, or reporting of the work.
Authors must disclose substantive use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies where relevant and remain fully responsible for checking facts, references, analysis, data, conclusions, and other content. AI must not be used to fabricate data, respondents, references, images, statistical results, or other research evidence.
When authors discover a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they must promptly notify the journal and cooperate with the editor in issuing an appropriate correction, clarification, or other post-publication action.
The Faculty of Economics, Universitas Dehasen Bengkulu, as publisher of EKOMBIS REVIEW, supports the journal's editorial infrastructure, administrative continuity, publication platform, preservation, and ethical governance.
The publisher respects the editorial independence of the Editor-in-Chief and editorial team. Financial, advertising, sponsorship, institutional, or commercial considerations must not determine the scientific acceptance or rejection of individual manuscripts.
EKOMBIS REVIEW takes credible allegations of research or publication misconduct seriously, whether concerns are raised before or after publication.
- fabrication or falsification of research data;
- plagiarism or duplicate publication;
- authorship manipulation;
- citation manipulation;
- peer-review manipulation;
- paper-mill activity;
- fabricated references or reviewer identities;
- unethical research;
- misleading AI-generated content; or
- serious undisclosed conflicts of interest.
Allegations are assessed fairly and proportionately. Editors may request explanations or evidence from authors, consult independent experts, institutional authorities, ethics bodies, or other relevant parties, and take appropriate editorial or post-publication action.
Authors, reviewers, readers, and other stakeholders may raise concerns regarding editorial procedures, peer review, ethics, published content, or journal administration through the journal's official contact mechanism.
Appeals against editorial decisions should identify a significant scholarly, factual, or procedural issue. Appeals do not guarantee reconsideration or acceptance and should not be used merely to avoid legitimate reviewer criticism.
EKOMBIS REVIEW is committed to maintaining an accurate and reliable scholarly record. Published articles are not silently altered merely because errors or concerns arise.
Depending on the nature and seriousness of a matter, the journal may issue a correction, editorial notice, expression of concern, retraction, or other appropriate scholarly-record update. Such notices should be transparent and linked to the affected article where technically possible.
