Persepsi Mahasiswa Terhadap Trust Issue Publik Mengenai Isu DPR RI (Studi Kasus : Jurusan Ilmu Administrasi Negara)
Studi Kasus : Jurusan Ilmu Administrasi Negara
Abstract
This study analyses the perceptions of Public Administration students at the University of Palangka Raya regarding public trust in the Indonesian House of Representatives. The background to this study is the consistently low level of public trust that has been revealed in various national surveys. A descriptive quantitative approach was used through a survey of 108 students from the 2023 cohort, who were selected using simple purposive sampling. The research instrument measured students' perceptions based on cognitive, affective, and conative dimensions, as well as the level of trust in terms of competence, integrity, and virtue. The results show that students have a fairly good cognitive understanding of the functions of the DPR RI (2.85), while the affective dimension is very low (1.68), reflecting disappointment with the political behaviour of DPR members. The conative dimension was the highest (3.13), indicating a participatory spirit to continue monitoring the legislative body. In terms of trust, competence was rated as adequate (2.59), while integrity (2.45) and virtue (2.37) were in the low category. These findings show that the crisis of trust in the DPR RI is also felt by FISIP students as a group of young intellectuals. Negative perceptions are mainly influenced by assessments of the morality and partiality of the DPR, not technical capabilities. The study emphasises the need for recovery measures through transparency, strengthening ethics, and commitment to the public interest.
