Abstract

Limited teacher experience in developing technology-based learning and the inadequate availability of practical learning tools have constrained the implementation of Internet of Things technology at SMAN 1 Kabupaten Lebong. This community service program aimed to strengthen teachers’ understanding and practical skills through the development of Internet of Things projects and practical learning tools that can be continuously utilized in classroom activities. The program employed participatory and applied approaches through needs identification, device development, training, hands-on practice, technology implementation, mentoring, and evaluation. Teachers gained direct experience in using microcontrollers, sensors, actuators, programming, and system testing through project-based activities. Evaluation results showed that the average score increased from 61.25 in the pre-test to 79.38 in the post-test, representing an increase of 18.13 points or 29.59 percent compared with the initial score. These findings indicate that the integration of training, practical activities, mentoring, and learning tools contributed positively to improving teachers’ understanding while providing sustainable technology-based learning media that can be independently utilized and further developed at school.
