POST-PUBLICATION DISCUSSION POLICY

1. Policy Statement

AGRITEPA: Jurnal Ilmu dan Teknologi Pertanian is committed to promoting scholarly dialogue, academic transparency, and research integrity beyond the publication of scientific articles.

In accordance with the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the journal encourages constructive post-publication discussions to improve scientific understanding, address potential inaccuracies, and maintain the reliability of the scholarly record.

This policy applies to all articles published in AGRITEPA.

2. Post-Publication Discussion

Authors, researchers, reviewers, and readers may submit scholarly comments, questions, or critical responses concerning published articles.

Discussions may address:

  1. Research methodology, data analysis, and interpretation of findings.

  2. Scientific accuracy, reproducibility, and research limitations.

  3. Alternative interpretations or relevant new scientific evidence.

  4. Potential errors, ethical concerns, or inconsistencies in published research.

All contributions must be evidence-based, respectful, objective, and relevant to the published work.

3. Submission and Editorial Assessment

Post-publication comments and concerns may be submitted to the Editor-in-Chief through the journal's official contact channel.

Submissions should clearly identify the relevant article, including its title and DOI where available, and provide supporting evidence or references.

The editorial team will assess the relevance, scientific validity, and ethical appropriateness of the submitted comments.

Where necessary, comments may be forwarded to the original authors for clarification or response. Independent expert assessment may also be requested.

The journal reserves the right to decline comments containing unsupported allegations, personal attacks, discriminatory language, or material unrelated to scientific discussion.

4. Authors' Right to Respond

Authors of published articles will be given a reasonable opportunity to respond to substantive scientific criticism or concerns regarding their work.

Responses should address the issues raised using appropriate scientific evidence and clear explanations.

The editorial team will seek to ensure fairness, transparency, and balanced scholarly discussion.

5. Corrections, Expressions of Concern, and Retractions

Where post-publication discussion identifies significant errors or potential research misconduct, AGRITEPA will take appropriate editorial action in accordance with its publication ethics and retraction policies.

Possible actions include:

  1. Correction: Issuing a correction for errors that do not invalidate the main findings.

  2. Expression of Concern: Informing readers of serious unresolved concerns regarding a published article.

  3. Retraction: Retracting an article when reliable evidence demonstrates that its findings or scientific integrity are fundamentally compromised.

Editorial notices will be clearly linked to the relevant published articles to maintain transparency and the integrity of the scholarly record.

6. Editorial Responsibility and Confidentiality

The Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board are responsible for evaluating post-publication concerns and determining appropriate editorial responses.

All discussions will be handled impartially, with due consideration for confidentiality, conflicts of interest, and the rights of the individuals involved.

Personal information and confidential research materials will be protected in accordance with applicable ethical and legal requirements.

7. Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure consistency with COPE guidance and internationally recognised standards of scholarly publishing.

AGRITEPA remains committed to fostering responsible scientific debate, continuous improvement in research quality, and public confidence in its published scholarly content.
