Introduction

AGRITEPA: Jurnal Ilmu dan Teknologi Pertanian is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published by Unived Press, Universitas Dehasen Bengkulu, Indonesia. The journal is academically managed by the Agribusiness Study Programme and Agricultural Food Technology Study Programme, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Dehasen Bengkulu, in collaboration with the Asosiasi Jurnal Pertanian Indonesia (AJPI).

The journal is committed to promoting open access to scientific knowledge, supporting the dissemination of research findings, and facilitating the responsible sharing and reuse of scholarly publications in agricultural food technology, agribusiness, agricultural socio-economics, and related disciplines.

To ensure transparency regarding copyright ownership, publication rights, and the reuse of published materials, AGRITEPA applies the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) licence to its published articles, subject to any clearly identified third-party rights or exceptions.

This licensing policy establishes the rights and responsibilities of authors, readers, researchers, educators, practitioners, institutions, and other parties who access, share, reproduce, adapt, or redistribute materials published in the journal.

1. Type of Licence

All articles published under AGRITEPA's current licensing policy are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) licence, unless an individual article explicitly states otherwise.

This licence enables the lawful sharing, reproduction, distribution, translation, adaptation, and reuse of published scholarly materials, including for commercial purposes, provided that users comply with the applicable licence conditions.

The licence promotes the accessibility, visibility, dissemination, and responsible reuse of scientific knowledge while ensuring that the original authors receive appropriate recognition.

2. Copyright Ownership and Publishing Rights

Authors who publish their work in AGRITEPA retain the copyright to their original scholarly contributions.

By submitting a manuscript for publication, the authors confirm that the work has not been previously published as a journal article, except where relevant material has appeared in a thesis, dissertation, institutional report, conference abstract, or another form of prior dissemination permitted by the journal's publication policies.

Authors must disclose any relevant prior dissemination and confirm that the manuscript is not simultaneously under consideration for publication by another journal.

Submission also implies that all listed co-authors have approved the manuscript and consented to its submission and potential publication.

Upon acceptance, authors grant AGRITEPA the non-exclusive right of first publication and authorise the journal to publish and distribute the accepted work under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence.

Authors retain their copyright and may exercise their rights to reuse, distribute, deposit, and further develop their work, subject to any existing third-party rights and applicable legal obligations.

The journal does not require authors to transfer copyright ownership to Unived Press or Universitas Dehasen Bengkulu.

Authors whose research involves potentially patentable inventions, technologies, processes, formulations, or innovations are encouraged to seek appropriate intellectual property advice and consider patent protection before publicly disclosing their findings.

3. Rights Granted under the CC BY-SA 4.0 Licence

Under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence, readers and other users are permitted to undertake the following activities.

3.1 Access and Download

Users may access, read, and download published articles without subscription barriers or payment for access to the articles.

3.2 Share and Redistribute

Users may copy, reproduce, share, and redistribute published articles in any medium or format, including electronic repositories, educational platforms, institutional websites, printed publications, and other lawful dissemination channels.

3.3 Reuse and Reproduce

Users may reproduce and reuse all or part of the licensed material for research, teaching, academic communication, professional development, public information, and other lawful purposes.

3.4 Translate and Adapt

Users may translate, remix, transform, adapt, and build upon published articles, provided that appropriate attribution is given, modifications are identified, and the resulting adapted material is shared under the same or an officially compatible licence, where required.

3.5 Commercial Use

The licence permits the reuse of published materials for commercial purposes, including incorporation into commercial educational resources, professional publications, and other commercial products or services, subject to compliance with the licence terms.

3.6 Irrevocability

The permissions granted under CC BY-SA 4.0 are irrevocable for as long as users comply with the licence conditions.

These permissions do not eliminate the requirement to respect intellectual property rights, confidentiality obligations, privacy rights, and other legal restrictions that may apply to specific materials.

4. Attribution Requirements

Any individual or organisation reusing materials published in AGRITEPA must provide appropriate attribution to the original authors and acknowledge the journal as the original publication source.

Where reasonably practicable and where the information has been supplied, attribution should include:

  1. The name of the original author or authors.

  2. The title of the published article.

  3. The name of the journal, AGRITEPA: Jurnal Ilmu dan Teknologi Pertanian.

  4. The year of publication, volume, issue, and page range or article number, where applicable.

  5. The article's Digital Object Identifier (DOI) or official publication URL, where available.

  6. A reference or hyperlink to the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence.

  7. An indication of whether the original material has been translated, modified, adapted, abridged, or otherwise changed.

Attribution must be presented in a reasonable and transparent manner. It must not imply that the original authors, AGRITEPA, Unived Press, or Universitas Dehasen Bengkulu endorse the user, the adaptation, or any particular subsequent use of the material.

Users must preserve existing copyright and licence notices where required by the licence.

5. ShareAlike Requirements

The ShareAlike provision is a fundamental requirement of the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence.

If users remix, transform, translate, or otherwise adapt licensed content and subsequently share the adapted material, they must distribute their contributions under the same CC BY-SA 4.0 licence or a licence officially recognised as compatible with it.

This requirement aims to preserve the freedom to access, share, and further adapt derivative scholarly materials under equivalent open licensing conditions.

Users may not impose additional legal restrictions or technological protection measures that prevent recipients from exercising the rights granted under the applicable licence.

The ShareAlike requirement applies to the distribution of adapted material and does not automatically require separate, unmodified materials merely collected alongside a licensed work to adopt the same licence.

6. Use of Third-Party Materials

Published articles may contain third-party content, including photographs, maps, tables, diagrams, illustrations, datasets, questionnaires, research instruments, or other copyrighted materials.

Such materials are not automatically covered by the journal's CC BY-SA 4.0 licence when their copyright status, credit line, or specific licence notice indicates otherwise.

Authors are responsible for obtaining any permissions required to reproduce third-party materials in their manuscripts and for providing accurate attribution and relevant licence information.

Readers and other users must examine the copyright status of third-party materials before reusing them.

Where a third-party work is excluded from the article's Creative Commons licence, additional permission from the relevant rights holder may be required, unless the proposed use is otherwise permitted by law.

7. Author Rights and Self-Archiving

AGRITEPA supports the dissemination and preservation of scientific publications through lawful sharing and institutional or subject-based repositories.

Authors retain the right to share and deposit the published version of their articles in institutional repositories, personal academic websites, research databases, and other scholarly communication platforms, subject to the applicable licence and any third-party rights.

When sharing the published version, authors are encouraged to provide the complete bibliographic citation, acknowledge AGRITEPA as the original publication venue, include the DOI or official article URL, and retain the relevant CC BY-SA 4.0 licence notice.

Authors may also use their published research for teaching, academic presentations, subsequent scholarly work, and other lawful activities without transferring copyright ownership to the publisher.

8. No Additional Restrictions

Users may not apply legal terms, contractual conditions, or effective technological measures that legally prevent others from exercising the rights granted under the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence.

The journal supports responsible scholarly dissemination and opposes restrictions that are inconsistent with its published open-access licensing terms.

However, the licence does not remove any applicable obligations concerning personal data protection, research ethics, confidential information, moral rights, or third-party intellectual property.

9. Disclaimer and Limitations

The CC BY-SA 4.0 licence does not provide any warranty regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or legal status of the licensed materials.

The licence does not necessarily grant all permissions that may be required for a particular intended use.

Other legal rights, including privacy, publicity, moral rights, patent rights, and third-party intellectual property rights, may restrict certain uses of published materials.

Users are responsible for assessing whether additional authorisations or permissions are required.

Materials in the public domain and uses permitted under applicable copyright exceptions or limitations are not subject to licence obligations to the extent that those exceptions or limitations apply.

10. Licence Information in Published Articles and OJS Metadata

AGRITEPA is committed to presenting clear and consistent copyright and licensing information through its official website and published articles.

The journal's licence information should be displayed in:

  1. The Licensing Policy or Copyright Notice page.

  2. The Author Guidelines and manuscript submission information.

  3. The article landing pages.

  4. The PDF and other published article formats, where practicable.

  5. Relevant OJS publication metadata.

  6. DOI registration metadata and other scholarly indexing records, where supported.

The journal aims to ensure that the declared licence type, copyright holder, article-level licence statements, and associated links remain accurate and consistent across its publishing platform.

Any changes to the journal's licensing policy will be announced transparently and should not be applied retrospectively in a manner that contradicts rights already granted under an existing Creative Commons licence.
