Analysis of Inventory Management in Supporting Smooth Production Processes at Bakpia Djava Yogyakarta
Abstract
Inventory management plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth production processes in the food industry. Adequate raw material availability coupled with effective inventory management are key factors in maintaining production continuity while maintaining product quality. This study aims to examine the implementation of inventory management in supporting smooth production processes at Bakpia Djava Yogyakarta. The study employed a qualitative approach using descriptive methods. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation during industrial visits. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Bakpia Djava implements inventory management through the procurement of raw materials from multiple suppliers to minimize the risk of distribution delays and crop failure. Inventory management is carried out using the First In First Out (FIFO) system, accompanied by quality inspections of raw materials upon receipt. In addition, the company establishes a structured division of tasks at each stage of production, conducts periodic employee training, and performs routine maintenance on production equipment to improve operational effectiveness. The implementation of this strategy has proven effective in ensuring raw material availability, ensuring smooth production processes, and maintaining product quality. Therefore, systematically planned and managed inventory management is a crucial aspect in supporting the continuity of production activities at Bakpia Djava Yogyakarta.
