The Influence of Work Life Balance and Workload on Employee Performance with Job Stress as an Intervening Variable at Karang Jaya Public Health Center
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effect of Work Life Balance and Workload on Employee Performance with Job Stress as an intervening variable in Karang Jaya Community Health Center employees. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method with a descriptive-causal approach. The study population consisted of 50 State Civil Apparatus (ASN) health workers, all of whom were sampled using a saturated sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires, while data analysis used the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method with the help of SmartPLS. The results of the study indicate that work life balance does not significantly affect employee performance, while workload has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. In addition, work life balance and workload do not significantly affect work stress. The results of the indirect effect test indicate that work stress is unable to act as an intervening variable in the relationship between work life balance and employee performance or between workload and employee performance. Thus, workload is a factor that directly influences employee performance, while work stress has not been proven to act as an intervening variable in the research model. The results of this study are expected to be a consideration for the Karang Jaya Health Center in managing workloads optimally to improve employee performance.
