Optimizing Search Routes for Traditional Bengkulu Restaurants Using GIS
Abstract
This research aims to design and implement a Geographic Information System (GIS) in optimizing the search route for typical Bengkulu restaurants. Currently, information about the location and routes of typical regional restaurants is still limited and scattered, making it difficult for tourists and local people to find the most efficient route. The system development method used is the Incremental model, which consists of stages of analysis, design, coding, and testing. The system is built using a PostGIS spatial database, the PHP programming language, and interactive map integration using Leaflet and OpenStreetMap. The determination of the optimal route is based on calculations using the Dijkstra algorithm applied to the road network of Bengkulu City. The test results showed that the system was able to display routes with a 95% accuracy rate compared to Google Maps calculations and an average response time of 2–3 seconds. In addition, the results of the questionnaire test showed the dominant level of user satisfaction in the "Excellent" category, namely 60% for interface quality, 59.4% for user convenience, and 59.5% for application performance. In conclusion, the use of GIS has proven to be effective in visualizing interactive location maps and finding the shortest or fastest route to a restaurant. This system simplifies the search process and is reliable as a recommendation for culinary tourism trips in Bengkulu City.
