Peer Review Process

Peer Review Policy

All scholarly manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Multidisiplin Dehasen (MUDE) are processed through a structured editorial and peer-review procedure. MUDE applies a double-blind peer-review system in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other as far as practicable.

Peer review is intended to evaluate the manuscript's originality, methodological quality, scholarly contribution, ethical compliance, clarity, relevance to the journal's multidisciplinary scope, and suitability for publication.

Peer Review Workflow

1. Submission through OJS

Manuscripts must be submitted through the official MUDE Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. Manuscripts sent only by email or messaging applications do not enter the formal editorial workflow.

2. Initial Editorial Screening

The editor conducts an initial screening to determine whether the manuscript fits MUDE's Focus & Scope, follows the current article template and Author Guidelines, contains complete metadata and declarations, demonstrates adequate scholarly quality, and meets basic ethical and methodological requirements.

3. Similarity and Research-Integrity Screening

Manuscripts may be screened using Turnitin or an equivalent similarity-detection system. Similarity results are evaluated contextually by the editor. A similarity percentage alone does not determine acceptance or rejection; unattributed overlap, plagiarism, duplicate publication, inappropriate text recycling, fabricated references, or other integrity concerns are assessed substantively.

4. Reviewer Assignment

Manuscripts that pass editorial screening are normally assigned to at least two independent reviewers whose expertise is relevant to the manuscript topic, discipline, method, or interdisciplinary problem.

5. Double-Blind Peer Review

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript independently under a double-blind process. Reviewers must maintain confidentiality, disclose conflicts of interest, provide objective scholarly comments, and must not use confidential manuscript material for personal purposes.

Review Criteria

Reviewers are asked to consider, where applicable:

  • relevance to MUDE's multidisciplinary or interdisciplinary scope;
  • originality, novelty, and scholarly contribution;
  • clarity of the research problem, objective, question, or hypothesis;
  • adequacy of the state of the art, research gap, and theoretical or conceptual framework;
  • appropriateness and transparency of the research design and methodology;
  • validity, reliability, trustworthiness, reproducibility, or technical evaluation as relevant to the discipline;
  • accuracy and clarity of the results;
  • depth of discussion and comparison with relevant recent scholarship;
  • theoretical, practical, technological, social, educational, health, managerial, or policy implications as relevant;
  • adequacy and currency of scholarly references;
  • ethical approval, informed consent, data integrity, and other research-ethics requirements where applicable; and
  • clarity, organisation, tables, figures, citations, and overall scholarly presentation.

Editorial Decision Categories

Reject / Decline

The manuscript is unsuitable for publication because of scope mismatch, insufficient contribution, fundamental methodological problems, serious ethical concerns, or other substantive weaknesses.

Major Revision

Substantial revision is required. The revised manuscript may be returned to the original reviewers or evaluated by other qualified reviewers.

Minor Revision

Limited changes are required before the manuscript can be considered for final acceptance.

Accept

The manuscript has satisfied the journal's scholarly and editorial requirements and may proceed to copyediting, production, and publication.

Revision Process

Authors receiving a revision decision must submit a revised manuscript through OJS together with a clear response to reviewer and editor comments. The response should explain how each comment has been addressed and identify any recommendation that was not followed, together with an academic justification.

Revised manuscripts may undergo further peer review when necessary. A request for revision does not constitute acceptance.

Final Editorial Decision

Reviewer recommendations inform the editorial decision but do not determine it automatically. The final decision rests with the responsible editor or Editor-in-Chief, who considers reviewer reports, author responses, journal policy, research integrity, scholarly quality, and the journal's scope.

Review Time

MUDE aims to complete the initial peer-review process within approximately 4–8 weeks. Actual processing time may vary depending on manuscript complexity, reviewer availability, the extent of revisions, and the need for additional ethical or methodological evaluation. This timeframe is a service target and is not a guarantee.

Confidentiality and AI

Reviewers and editors must not upload submitted manuscripts, supplementary files, review reports, or confidential editorial correspondence into public generative artificial intelligence systems. Confidentiality and independent scholarly judgement must be maintained throughout peer review.

Editorial Independence

Manuscript decisions are based on academic quality, scope, originality, methodological adequacy, ethical compliance, research integrity, and peer-review evidence. Article Processing Charges, institutional affiliation, academic position, sponsorship, advertising, or personal relationships do not determine acceptance.

No Paid Fast-Track Peer Review

MUDE does not offer a paid fast-track scientific peer-review service. Payment of the Article Processing Charge occurs only after formal acceptance and does not accelerate or influence scientific review or editorial decisions.
