Analisis Framing Media Online Tribunnews.com Dan Kumparan.Com Pada Pemberitaan Pengadaan Kelas Kontainer Di Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang
Abstract
This study aims to identify the framing used by the online media outlets Tribunnews.com and Kumparan.com regarding news coverage of the container classroom procurement at Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang (Unsika). The type of research employed in this study is descriptive qualitative. The primary data consists of news articles about the procurement of container classrooms at Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang published by Tribunnews.com and Kumparan.com. The data collection techniques used include literature study and documentation. The data analysis method applies Robert N. Entman’s framing analysis model, which includes four framing elements: define problem, diagnose cause, make moral judgment, and treatment recommendation. The results of the study show that Tribunnews.com, in its framing, highlights the controversial aspects by using sensational headlines and strong diction, with a critical tone that seems to steer public opinion toward viewing the container classroom procurement as inefficient and in need of further scrutiny. In contrast, Kumparan.com presents the issue in a more informative and solution-oriented manner, emphasizing that the policy reflects an urgent necessity. The framing differences in each media outlet stem from how each frames, interprets, and packages events or issues before they are presented as news. This demonstrates how media can shape public opinion. It can be concluded that framing is the structuring of information about an issue or problem with the aim of shaping public opinion or guiding public perception regarding that issue.
