Partisipasi Masyarakat Dalam Program Kota Tanpa Kumuh (Kotaku) (Studi Di Kelurahan Sumber Jaya Kecamatan Kampung Melayu Kota Bengkulu)
Abstract
In every year, the population of Indonesian is increasing. It makes urban areas become more denser and tend to be create more slums. The program of Kota Tanpa Kumuh (KOTAKU)/ city without slum is one of the national programs with the aim of building the integrated system to handling the slum settlements, where the local government can lead and make a collaboration with the other stakeholders in planning and in implementation, and to put forward the participation society. The tittle of this reseach is The Paticipation of Society in Program of Kota Tanpa Kumuh (KOTAKU)/ City without slum at Sumber Jaya, Kampung Melayu, Bengkulu City. The purpose of this research is to give the description concern the participation of society and to looking for the causes of participation which is not optimal. The methodology used in this research is qualitative descriptive to give a clear description to the research problem. The research aspect is reference by the theory of Cohen and Uphof, that is participation in taking the decision, implementation of program, taking the benefits, and evaluation. The result of research in the field shows that there are still a lot of society who are not participating, start from making the decision because the society are not well know about this program, the society are also not present in metting, at the implementation of the program, there are still many society who are not participating to help in direct when processing of construction, however the society had taking the position by pay the garbage fees, in taking the benefits, the society had feel the development benefits, however there are still of them who are throw the garbage at randomly, so it makes a new problem, and in evaluation there are still a lot of wish and critic from the society and the organizer for this program. The society who are not participating in this program caused by : 1) age, 2) habit, 3) uneducated society, 4) profession or activity, 5) less space to participate..
