The Relationship Between Environmental Sanitation and the Incidence of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) at Pengaringan Community Health Center, Pagar Alam City, in 2025
Abstract
The incidence of dengue fever has increased dramatically worldwide. The incidence of dengue fever is caused by environmental sanitation factors. In 2025 there will be an increase in dengue cases to 38 cases as of February 2025 based on data from the Pagaralam City Health Office, this significant increase makes researchers want to analyze the causes of dengue in terms of environmental sanitation. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between environmental sanitation and the incidence of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) at the Pagaralam City Drainage Health Center in 2025. The research method used Cross Sectional with a sample of 162 respondents taken by accidental sampling. The results showed that the variables related to the incidence of dengue from environmental sanitation were the environmental condition of the house p value 0.004, water reservoir p value 0.013, and livestock cage sanitation p value 0.000. There was no relationship between SPAL and the waste disposal system with the incidence of dengue. It can be concluded that environmental sanitation is related to the incidence of dengue with the most dominant factor being the sanitation of livestock cages. It is recommended for the Pagaralam City Health Office to be able to create a program related to "Every Child is Jumantik", this program can be carried out by the Health Office in collaboration with schools and the surrounding community. Schools can assign each child to be a jumantik in their respective homes.
