Design and Development of an Android-Based Mobile Application for Kitchen Management in the Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) Using Sequential Algorithms and the CRUD Method

Abstract

Operational management in the Healthy Nutritious Meal (MBG) program kitchen, which includes menu planning, raw material stock management, and food distribution, often faces efficiency constraints when handled manually or semi-digitally. This research aims to design and develop an Android-based mobile application specifically tailored for kitchen management in the MBG program to optimize data management processes quickly and systematically. The application was developed using Kotlin/Java programming language with the CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) method for managing kitchen inventory and meal logs. To ensure that the processing of raw material queues or distribution runs structurally, a Sequential algorithm is implemented in the system's data processing. The system development method used is the Waterfall model, comprising requirements analysis, system design, implementation, and testing stages. The application interface was designed using Figma to ensure smooth user navigation (UI/UX). System functionality testing was conducted using the Black Box Testing method to ensure all modules—such as kitchen stock management, daily menu input, and distribution reporting—operate correctly. The results show that this application successfully reduces administrative logging time, minimizes data input errors, and provides structured, efficient data transparency for the MBG kitchen operations.
