Abstract

This Study  aims to determine whether there is an influence of leadership style on employee performance at the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) Office of Sorong City and to examine whether motivation affects employee performance at the same institution. The research was conducted at the DPRD Office of Sorong City involving a sample of 56 employees. This study employed a quantitative approach with a causal associative research design. The results indicate that leadership style does not have a significant effect on employee performance. This finding is evidenced by a T-statistic value of 1.518 < 1.96, a p-value of 0.129 > 0.05, and an original sample coefficient of 0.301. Similarly, motivation was also found to have no significant effect on employee performance, as shown by a T-statistic value of 1.626 < 1.96, a p-value of 0.104 > 0.05, and an original sample coefficient of 0.292. The limitation of this research lies in the fact that it only examines intrinsic factors without including extrinsic aspects that may also influence employee performance. Nevertheless, the findings of this study can serve as valuable input for the DPRD Office of Sorong City, Papua Barat Daya, particularly in improving the implementation of effective leadership styles and motivational strategies within the organization.
