The Effect Of Workload And Job Satisfaction Of Nurses On Nursing Documentation In The Inpatient Wards Of Rs. Ar Bunda Prabumulih
Abstract
Nursing documentation serves as a comprehensive information tool regarding the patient's health status, nursing care activities, patient responses to care and medical interventions provided, nursing actions, and patient reactions to illness (Bismar, 2020; Siregar, 2020). Several factors can influence the implementation of nursing care documentation, including workload, work stress, and the level of job satisfaction of nurses regarding their work (Zalukhu, 2020). The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between workload and job satisfaction of nurses on nursing documentation in the inpatient wards of RS AR Bunda Prabumulih. This research employs a quantitative research design with a correlational analytical approach. The sample for this study consisted of 47 nurses in the inpatient wards of RS AR Bunda Prabumulih. Data analysis used the chi-square statistical test. The results showed that the majority of nurses (48.9%) fell into the heavy workload category, while job satisfaction was at 42.6% in the moderate satisfaction category, and nursing documentation was rated as poor by 63.8%. The chi-square test results indicated that there was no significant relationship between workload and nursing documentation (p =0.520) and no significant relationship between job satisfaction and nursing documentation(p= 0.356). It is recommended that management take strategic actions and managerial policies to maintain the welfare of nurses and the quality of nursing services. Nurses are encouraged to manage their time effectively to uphold professionalism and performance in their work.
