Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is an irreversible disease involving abnormalities in the structure and function of the kidneys. Hemodialysis is one of the therapies used to replace kidney function that is currently used in patients, in addition to peritoneal dialysis and kidney transplantation. According to a report by the World Health Organization (WHO), the prevalence of CKD worldwide reaches 10% of the population. Data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health shows that there are 17,193 patients who have undergone hemodialysis in Indonesia and 11,689 patients who are actively undergoing hemodialysis. In 2023 and 2024, at Bhayangkara Hospital in Bengkulu City, data on inpatients and outpatients with chronic kidney failure reached 2,007 patients. This study is an analytical study with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study consists of all chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis at Bhayangkara Hospital Level II in Bengkulu City from January to April 2025, totaling 402 patients. The sample size in this study is 80 respondents, using accidental sampling technique. This study aims to determine whether there is a correlation between the frequency of hemodialysis and stress levels in kidney failure patients at Bhayangkara Hospital of Bengkulu City. The results of this study show that there is a correlation between the frequency of hemodialysis and stress levels of patients with kidney failure at Bhayangkara Hospital Level II of Bengkulu City in 2025. This study suggests that it can provide an overview of a correlation between the duration of hemodialysis and stress levels of patients with chronic kidney failure and can also be used as a reference for future researchers related to stress levels in patients with chronic kidney failure.
