Abstract
Legal protection of employees’ wage rights is one of the state’s guarantees in realizing fair, balanced, and legally certain employment relationships for both employees and employers. Although wage regulations have been stipulated in various laws and regulations, their implementation at the company level continues to face challenges that may affect the fulfillment of employees’ rights. This study aims to analyze the implementation of legal protection of employees’ wage rights under Government Regulation Number 49 of 2025 on Wages at CV Putra Mandiri Medan and to examine the efforts undertaken by the company to overcome the obstacles encountered in implementing its wage system. This research employs an empirical legal research method using an empirical juridical approach. The data were obtained through library research and field research conducted by interviewing the company’s management and employees, and were subsequently analyzed qualitatively. The findings indicate that the implementation of legal protection of employees’ wage rights at CV Putra Mandiri Medan has generally complied with the applicable legal provisions through regular wage payments, overtime compensation, and the application of a wage system based on prevailing laws and regulations. Nevertheless, several obstacles were identified, including delays in wage payments due to administrative processes, employees’ limited understanding of their rights, and the absence of a written grievance mechanism. Therefore, strengthening the wage administration system, enhancing the dissemination of information regarding employees’ rights, and establishing a more effective grievance mechanism are necessary to ensure legal protection that provides legal certainty, justice, and benefits for all parties in the employment relationship.
