Pemberdayaan Ibu Rumah Tangga melalui Program Bank Sampah sebagai Upaya Penguatan Ekonomi Keluarga
Abstract
Household waste management that is not yet orderly constitutes an environmental issue that also impacts family expenditure. This community service program aims to empower housewives through the establishment and strengthening of a Waste Bank, so that waste previously considered a burden can be transformed into economic value. The method includes preparation, implementation (socialization, sorting training, and equipment handover), evaluation, and follow-up. Educational materials cover types of waste with economic value, proper sorting methods, savings recording, and partnerships with collectors. Results show significant impact; average knowledge score increased from 52 to 84 points. Improvements occurred in Waste Bank concept (32%), sorting techniques (32%), and savings administration (32%). Economically, participants gained an average 24.5% additional income from waste savings. In conclusion, the Waste Bank program effectively enhances waste management awareness while generating sustainable family income integrated into daily life.
