Relationship Between Patient Family Satisfaction And Caring Behavior In The Emergency Installation (IGD) Of Dr M Yunus Hospital Bengkulu

Abstract

Caring is an act of communication, support for patients, and attention to physical care that must be carried out as a form of kindness and concern by nurses to increase patients' sense of security and support their recovery. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between patient family satisfaction and caring behaviour in the emergency department of Dr M Yunus Bengkulu Regional General Hospital. This study was a correlation study. The sample in this study consisted of 65 families of patients in the emergency department of Dr M Yunus Bengkulu Regional General Hospital. The research instrument was a caring behaviour questionnaire. Data collection was conducted directly in the emergency department of Dr M Yunus Regional General Hospital. The results of the univariate analysis showed that the majority of patients' families in the Emergency Room of Dr M Yunus Regional General Hospital were satisfied with caring behaviour (90.76%) and the majority were satisfied (92.7%). Furthermore, the bivariate analysis results showed that there was a relationship between patient satisfaction with caring behaviour (p=0.005) in the Emergency Room (IGD) of Dr M Yunus Regional General Hospital in Bengkulu. There were 60 satisfied respondents and 5 dissatisfied respondents. There were 53 caring respondents and 12 non-caring respondents. This study is expected to expand knowledge and serve as a source of information regarding the relationship between caring behaviour and patient family satisfaction, which can be used in further research.
