Abstract

Bengkulu Province ranks third lowest with 0.3 cases of malnutrition and 1.5 cases of undernutrition (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2022). In Bengkulu Province in 2020, there were 2,380 cases of undernourished toddlers (BPS Bengkulu Province, 2020). In Lebong Regency, there were 73 undernourished toddlers in 2020. In 2021, there were 71 undernourished toddlers. In 2022, there were 30 undernourished toddlers, and 5 undernourished toddlers. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between maternal knowledge and parenting patterns with nutritional status in toddlers in the Donok City Community Health Center Work Area, Lebong Regency in 2024. The research method used was descriptive quantitative research with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, with a sample size of 84 mothers with toddlers at the Donok City Community Health Center, Lebong Regency. The results of the univariate test analysis showed that a small portion of respondents (23.8%) had insufficient knowledge, almost half of respondents (28.6%) had authoritarian parenting patterns, and almost half of respondents (28.6%) had poor nutritional status. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that knowledge (0.000) and parenting patterns (0.000) were associated with nutritional status in toddlers. There was a relationship between knowledge and nutritional status in toddlers in the Working Area of ​​the Donok City Health Center, Lebong Regency in 2024. The researcher suggests that the Donok City Community Health Center, Lebong Regency, can use the results of this study as a basis for implementing guidance, coaching, and counseling programs regarding nutritional status in toddlers.
