Abstract

Acute respiratory infection remains an important health problem in children under five, while household practices can shape exposure to respiratory risk factors. To determine the relationship between household Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) and the risk of ARI among children under five in the working area of Dermayu Community Health Center, Seluma Regency. This quantitative cross-sectional study included 40 respondents selected purposively. Questionnaire data were analyzed using univariate statistics and Pearson Chi-Square at α=0.05. Good household PHBS was found in 21 respondents (52.5%) and poor PHBS in 19 (47.5%). ARI risk was high in 16 children (40.0%), moderate in 13 (32.5%), and low in 11 (27.5%). Pearson Chi-Square yielded χ²=8.116, df=2, p=0.017.  Household PHBS was significantly associated with ARI risk; strengthening consistent healthy household practices is important for prevention
