Abstract

Tetanus Toxoid (TT)/Td2+ immunization coverage among pregnant women in Indonesia in 2022 remained suboptimal at 72.7%, indicating that a proportion of pregnant women had not yet received complete immunization as recommended. Tetanus Toxoid immunization is an important preventive measure to reduce the risk of maternal and neonatal tetanus, considering that infection remains one of the leading causes of maternal mortality in Indonesia. This study aims to examine the relationship between the level of knowledge of pregnant women and the completeness of Tetanus Toxoid immunization in the working area of Telaga Dewa Public Health Center, Bengkulu City, in 2025. The study employed a cross-sectional research design. The sampling technique used was total sampling, involving 36 pregnant women as respondents. The research instruments consisted of questionnaires measuring pregnant women’s knowledge levels and the completeness of Tetanus Toxoid immunization. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses with the Chi-Square test. The results showed that the majority of respondents had a good level of knowledge, with 20 respondents (55.6%). In addition, most pregnant women had received complete Tetanus Toxoid immunization, totaling 25 respondents (69.4%). The bivariate analysis indicated a significant relationship between pregnant women’s knowledge level and the completeness of Tetanus Toxoid immunization, with a p-value of 0.002 (p < 0.05). These findings suggest that the level of knowledge of pregnant women plays an important role in supporting the completeness of Tetanus Toxoid immunization during pregnancy. Therefore, strengthening knowledge aspects through antenatal care services is an essential component in efforts to enhance protection for mothers and infants against the risk of tetanus.
