Abstract

The development of information technology has encouraged the implementation of digital attendance systems in various government institutions to improve the effectiveness of employee attendance data management. However, the attendance system used at Talang Perapat Village Office, West Seluma District, still has limitations in accurately validating employee attendance. This study aims to design and develop a web-based attendance application using the geolocation method at Talang Perapat Village Office, West Seluma District. The application is designed to support a more effective, accurate, and transparent attendance recording process through the utilization of geolocation technology and photo documentation as attendance validation. The methods used in this study include observation, interviews, and literature review, while the system development process applies the Waterfall method. The resulting system is capable of recording location-based attendance, capturing photos as proof of attendance, and monitoring attendance data in real time. The developed application has proven to enhance the validity of employee attendance data, prevent attendance fraud through location and photo verification, and accelerate the attendance report management process for administrators at the Talang Perapat Village Office, West Seluma District.
