Rapid Application Development (RAD) in Creating Flutter Applications for Sales Monitoring
Abstract
Digitalization in small retail businesses is required to reduce recording errors, accelerate report preparation, and provide real-time sales information. This study aimed to design and develop a mobile application for sales monitoring and inventory management using Flutter and Firebase Firestore, and to evaluate its functional feasibility and user acceptance. The system was developed using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) approach through Planning, User Design, Construction, and Cutover phases. Application requirements were identified through observation and interviews at a grocery store in Bengkulu City. The resulting system provides user authentication, a real-time monitoring dashboard, inventory management, incoming-goods and sales transaction recording, and PDF sales-report generation. Black Box Testing was conducted on 12 scenarios, all of which were successfully completed. User Acceptance Testing involved 23 respondents and eight Likert-scale statements; the application obtained a score of 832 out of 920, equivalent to 90.43%, and was classified as very good. These findings indicate that the application performs its main functions reliably, replaces inefficient manual recording, and is well accepted as a tool to support grocery-store operations and business decision-making.
