Abstract
Criminal liability for perpetrators of religious blasphemy through electronic media represents the application of criminal law to intentional acts that affect public order and interreligious harmony. This study aims to analyze the form of criminal liability and assess its application in Medan District Court Decision Number 2359/Pid.Sus/2024/PN Mdn using a normative juridical method with statutory and case approaches. The results indicate that the elements of intent, capacity for responsibility, and unlawful acts through electronic media were fulfilled. The panel of judges found the defendant guilty and imposed imprisonment and a fine; however, the sentence is considered relatively lenient given the nature of the offense, its wide dissemination, and its social impact.
