Optimasi Proses Seleksi Calon Peserta Olimpiade Sains Menggunakan Metode Promethee
Abstract
selection of candidates for the National Science Olympiad (OSN) is a crucial stage in identifying students with outstanding academic abilities. Manual selection processes can lead to inefficient assessments, require significant time, and potentially introduce subjectivity when identifying the best students. This study aims to develop a decision support system to facilitate the selection and ranking of OSN candidates in an objective, effective, and transparent manner. The method employed is the Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluation (PROMETHEE), a multi-criteria decision-making technique capable of ranking alternatives based on multiple criteria. The study utilizes primary student data, with assessment criteria comprising scores in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Biology; eligible students are those with scores ranging from 75 to 100. The research stages include data collection, the determination of criteria and weights, data processing using the PROMETHEE method, the calculation of leaving flow, entering flow, and net flow, and the final ranking process. The study results in a decision support system that generates student recommendations based on the highest net flow values. This system is expected to enhance the effectiveness of the selection process, reduce subjectivity, minimize calculation errors, and support decision-making in identifying OSN candidates in a more structured and accurate way.
