Design Of A Web-Based Point Of Sale System For A Photo Studio: A Case Study Of Ruang Rana Palembang
Abstract
Ruang Rana Palembang is a photostudio business that still records transactions, customer data, reports, and receipts by hand. This practice invites recording mistakes, duplicate data, and slow access to information. This study designs a web-based cashier system that brings transactions, customer data, service menus, promotions, studio rooms, and reports together in one application. Development uses the sequential Waterfall model, running from requirements analysis through design and implementation to testing, evaluation, and maintenance. Observation, interviews, and a review of existing documents supplied the requirements, which were then modelled in three Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams: use case, activity, and class. Two kinds of users, the cashier and the owner, work with the system under separate access rights. The result is a cashier system with login, session- and duration-based transactions, payment with automatic change calculation, receipt printing, customer and transaction data that can be printed as PDF or exported to Excel, management of menus, promotions, rooms, and users, and monthly revenue reports for the owner. Its data structure consists of eight classes, and functional testing is planned with Black Box Testing. The system is expected to shorten transaction time, make records more accurate, and give the owner a firmer basis for business decisions.
