Developing An Android-Based Point Of Sale (Pos) Application For Warung Hadi Using Firebase
Abstract
The rapid development of information technology encourages small businesses, including traditional shops, to shift from manual systems to digital systems in order to improve efficiency and accuracy in business management. Warung Hadi, as the object of this study, still uses manual record-keeping, which is prone to errors such as miscalculations, recording mistakes, and stock management issues. Therefore, this study aims to design and develop an Android-based Point of Sale (POS) application integrated with Firebase as the backend service.
The research methods include observation, interviews, and literature study for data collection, as well as system development stages consisting of analysis, design, implementation, and testing. The application wasÂ
developed using the Kotlin programming language with Android Studio as the development environment, and Firebase for real-time database management.
The results show that the developed POS application includes main features such as product management, sales transactions, and sales reports, which help improve the operational efficiency of Warung Hadi. Based on Black Box Testing, all application features function properly with a success rate of 100%.
In conclusion, this application provides an effective digital solution to overcome manual recording problems and supports more structured, faster, and more accurate business management.
