Design And Development Of A Progressive Web App (PWA)-Based Inventory Management System Using EOQ And ROP Algorithms
Abstract
Advancements in information technology are driving the retail sector to move away from conventional systems in favor of improved operational efficiency. Pet Shop 4yos Veterinary Care faces challenges regarding manual inventory tracking, which leads to risks such as stock discrepancies and procurement delays. This study aims to integrate the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) and Reorder Point (ROP) algorithms into a Progressive Web App (PWA)-based information system. The PWA method was selected for its ability to provide responsive, multi-platform access, thereby facilitating easier inventory monitoring. Application of the mathematical formulas indicates that the ideal economic order quantity for the shop is 154 units per procurement cycle. The system also successfully generates accurate, automated reorder notifications precisely when warehouse stock levels drop to 41 units. Evaluation results demonstrate that the application functions effectively and maintains accurate, real-time stock data updates. The primary contribution of this research is the provision of an effective and practical digital warehouse management system model designed to minimize the risk of inventory mismanagement in the business.
