Edukasi Anemia Berbasis Pendekatan Ekologi Sosial Berdasarkan Hasil Pemeriksaan Mean Corpuscular Volume (MCV) pada Masyarakat
Abstract
Anaemia in pregnant women remains a health problem influenced by biological conditions and the surrounding social environment. This community service activity aimed to improve understanding of anaemia prevention and management through a social ecological education approach using Mean Corpuscular Volume examination results to tailor educational messages. The activity was conducted at Jatinegara District Health Centre in two meetings using lectures, question-and-answer sessions, presentations, and leaflets. The stages included participant identification, preparation of educational materials, review of haematology data, counselling, and evaluation of participant understanding. The activity report showed that 90.2% of pregnant women had a good dietary pattern and 71.6% had good knowledge. Anaemia was recorded in 26.1% of participants, while erythrocyte indices indicated that some participants still had low Mean Corpuscular Volume and Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin values. Context-based education that involves individual, family, social, and health-service factors can strengthen anaemia prevention and continued maternal monitoring.
