Penguatan Peran Kader, Keluarga, dan Siswa dalam Pencegahan Tuberkulosis melalui Edukasi Berbasis Komunitas di Desa Bukur Kecamatan Patianrowo Kabupaten Nganjuk

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is still one of the public health issues that requires the involvement of various parties in efforts for its prevention and control. A community-based approach is needed to increase knowledge, strengthen the role of health volunteers and families, and raise awareness about TB prevention from school age. This community service activity aims to increase public knowledge about TB prevention and support, strengthen the role of volunteers and families in supporting TB patients, and improve students' knowledge about TB prevention. The activities are carried out through education and community empowerment at the Bukur Village Hall and education for students at MTs Zahrotul Ulum. The target of the activities includes volunteers, families, and students. The activities are conducted through delivering educational materials, interactive discussions, strengthening the role of volunteers and families, as well as introducing the use of herbal plants such as sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata).Ginger (Zingiber officinale) and turmeric (Curcuma longa) are used as part of health education support. Knowledge is assessed before and after the education through questionnaires. These activities help participants better understand the symptoms, transmission, prevention, the importance of TB treatment, and the role of families and health volunteers in supporting TB control. Educating students also helps raise awareness about healthy habits and TB prevention from a young age. Community-based activities involving volunteers, families, and schools can help boost community capacity in preventing and controlling TB. Ongoing education, guidance, and regular evaluations are needed to maintain knowledge and strengthen community involvement in TB control.
