The Implementation Of Discipline And Responsibility Character Education Through Physical Education, Sport, And Health (Pjok) Subject For Students At Sd Negeri 04 Kota Bengkulu
Abstract
This study is motivated by the persistence of undisciplined behavior and low responsibility among elementary school students, while Physical Education, Sport, and Health (PJOK) holds a strategic position for instilling both values through physical activities. This study aims to describe the implementation of discipline and responsibility character education through PJOK learning among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 04 Kota Bengkulu. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach, with the PJOK teacher, fifth-grade students, and the school principal as subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with validity strengthened by source triangulation. Results show that discipline implementation has run fairly well, reflected in lesson plans explicitly stating discipline values, students' habits of arriving on time, listening to instructions, and putting away equipment, although some students were still occasionally late. Responsibility implementation has also run well, evident from equipment duty, willingness to serve as team captains, sportsmanship, and concern for reminding peers who broke rules. Supporting factors include the teacher's consistency and explicit lesson planning, while inhibiting factors include some students' inconsistent discipline. Overall, PJOK learning has contributed positively to shaping fifth-grade students' discipline and responsibility character.
