Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of target game training on shooting accuracy using the instep among players of the futsal team at SMA Negeri 11 Rejang Lebong. The population of this study consisted of all 15 players of the SMA Negeri 11 Rejang Lebong futsal team. A purposive sampling technique was employed, resulting in a sample of 15 players who met the research criteria. This research adopted an experimental method using a One Group Pretest–Posttest Design, which involves an initial test (pretest) before the treatment and a final test (posttest) after the treatment within a single group. The treatment consisted of target game training, including goaling, girshoot, zig-zag goal, and bolbal shoot exercises, conducted over six weeks with a training frequency of three sessions per week. Data were collected using an instep shooting accuracy test instrument. The data analysis techniques included descriptive statistical analysis, normality testing, homogeneity testing, and hypothesis testing using a paired sample t-test. The results showed that target game training had a significant effect on instep shooting accuracy among the players of the SMA Negeri 11 Rejang Lebong futsal team. This was evidenced by the paired sample t-test results, which yielded a calculated t-value of 67.350, while the t-table value was 2.145 at a significance level of α = 0.05 with 14 degrees of freedom (df). In addition, the significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) was 0.000, which is less than 0.05. The mean pretest score of 25.33 increased to 39.73 in the posttest, representing an improvement of 14.40 points or 56.85%. Therefore, it can be concluded that target game training has a significant effect on improving instep shooting accuracy among players of the SMA Negeri 11 Rejang Lebong futsal team.
